The Paul Ramsey Award nomination committee is pleased to announce Luke Gormally as the 2011 recipient of the Paul Ramsey Award for excellence in bioethics. Professor Gormally is a leading British bioethicist and was the first Research Officer and long-time Director of The Linacre Centre. More recently, he served as Senior Research Fellow of the Centre and Research Professor of Ave Maria School of Law in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He has published numerous books and papers on a range of topics, including euthanasia and physician-assisted suicide, the sanctity of life in medicine, healthcare allocation, and reproductive ethics—taking a life-affirming stand on each of these issues over a career of faithful research.
